In a touching display of gratitude, an elephant calf in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district paused after being rescued from a muddy pit to gently touch the JCB machine that aided in its liberation. Captured on video, the calf's gesture has since gone viral, resonating deeply with viewers worldwide.
 

The incident occurred near Chilkaguda village, where a herd of 41 elephants had entered the area to drink and bathe. While the herd moved on, the young calf got trapped in the pit. Villagers, upon hearing its distress calls, alerted Forest officials and initiated a rescue operation. Using a JCB machine, they cleared the surrounding mud, allowing the calf to escape.

After its rescue, the calf approached the JCB, touching it with its trunk in what many interpret as a 'thank you' gesture. This poignant moment highlights the deep bond between elephants and the compassion of those who assist them.
