Mumbai: Mumbai Police have arrested an auto-rickshaw driver accused of brutally raping a 20-year-old woman and inserting foreign objects including blade and stones into her private parts. The woman, a resident of Nalasopara in Palghar district, Maharashtra, was found late on Tuesday night near Ram Mandir railway station in Goregaon. She had travelled to Mumbai by train earlier that day and was reportedly raped in Vasai by the driver, who then brought her to Mumbai in his vehicle.

Upon reaching Mumbai, the driver left the woman unconscious near the railway station and fled. After regaining consciousness, the victim contacted the police and was taken to a hospital for a medical examination. Doctors found that surgical blades and stones had been forcibly inserted into her private parts. These objects were successfully removed, and the woman is now receiving medical care.

Based on the victim's complaint, the police launched an investigation and arrested the suspect on Friday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Smita Patil confirmed that a case has been registered against the driver, and further investigations are underway. The police continue to probe the incident, which has shocked community.
