A video featuring Ashu Bairwa, son of Rajasthan's Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa, has gone viral on social media. In the video, Ashu is seen driving an open jeep with three friends, while police vehicles are seen escorting them both in front and behind. The video has raised concerns about the misuse of VVIP protocol and violation of traffic rules.

In the viral footage, Ashu Bairwa drives the jeep with its hood down, enjoying the rainy weather with his friends. One of the friends is Kartikeya Bhardwaj, son of Congress leader Pushpendra Bhardwaj. The video shows the police escorting them, though it remains unclear when and where the video was recorded.

The sight of a police escort for what appears to be a joyride has led many to question how and why the sons of politicians were given such special treatment. The vehicle Ashu was driving is reportedly owned by Kartikeya, who had shared the video on his Instagram account with the caption, "Be it politics or the road, we move our way everywhere."

The incident has brought attention to Deputy CM Premchand Bairwa, who also holds the charge of the Transport Department. Many have pointed out the irony that while his son is seen breaking traffic rules, he oversees the department responsible for enforcing them.

Deputy CM's response

Premchand Bairwa downplayed the situation, stating, "He is still a child, I do not blame my child."

In his statement, the Deputy CM expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister for his position and mentioned that his son was simply enjoying a ride in a "big car" owned by a rich person.

"I want to thank the PM for making me the Deputy CM.  At least my son got a chance to see a good car just because a rich man gave him to drive the big car,  I am thankful that people have started asking about my son too. A police car was escorting behind for police security. I do not blame my child," he said.

He also clarified that the police car following them was part of their security.
