Delhi: Vishal, one of the victims of the alleged car incident involving AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, has claimed that they were merely asking about job opportunities when Kejriwal signaled his driver to hit them. "I am a resident of the New Delhi constituency. We just went there to ask him about jobs. Arvind Kejriwal signalled the driver of the car to hit us," Vishal said.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate from New Delhi, Parvesh Verma, visited the injured individuals at the Lady Hardinge Medical College. Verma confirmed that one BJP worker had suffered a broken leg and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

"The car of Arvind Kejriwal has gone ahead by crushing the worker of the BJP. The leg of the worker (BJP) has broken, and I am going to the Lady Hardinge Medical College to inquire about his health. This is very shameful," Verma told ANI. He also posted a video on social media platform X, accusing Kejriwal of hitting people with his car who were simply asking questions.

In response, the Aam Aadmi Party alleged that Kejriwal's car was attacked during the campaign on Saturday. AAP shared a video on their official X handle, showing a stone being thrown at Kejriwal's car. AAP accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of orchestrating the attack, claiming it was carried out by supporters of BJP's Parvesh Verma, who was also campaigning at the time.

Delhi will go to the polls on February 5, with the counting of votes taking place on February 8. The New Delhi Assembly seat will see a triangular contest between Kejriwal, BJP's Parvesh Verma, and Congress' Sandeep Dikshit. The last date for filing nominations was January 17, and the date for scrutiny is January 18, with the last date for withdrawal of candidacy on January 20.
