IndiGo had also announced on Thursday, October 15, that its flight cancellations to Saudi Arabian destinations would continue until October 24.

New Delhi: Akasa Air has extended the suspension of all flights to and from Saudi Arabian cities Riyadh and Jeddah until October 27, citing the prevailing security situation in the Middle East.
The airline announced the decision on Sunday, offering affected passengers full refunds or the option to reschedule their journeys without additional charges.
The latest announcement comes as several Indian airlines, including Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo, have extended flight cancellations to Saudi Arabia amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the region.
In a statement posted on X, Akasa Air said, "In view of the prevailing security situation in the Middle East, Akasa Air has extended the suspension of all flights to and from Riyadh and Jeddah upto and including October 27, 2026... Passengers affected by these cancellations may opt for a full refund, which will be credited to the original source of payment within seven days, or reschedule their travel at no additional cost. Passengers who have booked through travel partners are requested to contact them directly for assistance. The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority."
The airline clarified that passengers opting for refunds would receive the amount through their original payment method within seven days. Those wishing to travel at a later date can reschedule their bookings without paying additional charges.
Passengers who booked tickets through travel agents or other travel partners have been advised to contact their respective booking providers for assistance.
Akasa Air's latest decision extends its earlier suspension of services to Saudi Arabia, making October 27 the revised date through which flights to Riyadh and Jeddah will remain cancelled.
Meanwhile, Air India and Air India Express on Saturday announced that their flights to and from three major Saudi Arabian cities — Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam — would remain suspended until October 24.
"In view of the prevailing situation, Air India and Air India Express have temporarily suspended flights to and from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam until 24 October 2026," Air India said in a statement on X.
The airline said it was closely monitoring developments in the region and remained committed to providing passengers with as much flexibility as possible during the disruption.
The latest extension followed earlier announcements by the two carriers. On Friday, October 16, Air India had cancelled its Saudi Arabia services until October 20, while Air India Express had previously suspended operations to the country until October 17.
IndiGo had also announced on Thursday, October 15, that its flight cancellations to Saudi Arabian destinations would continue until October 24.
The successive extensions by Indian carriers reflect continuing concerns over aviation safety amid the security situation in the Middle East.
With multiple airlines suspending operations to key Saudi Arabian destinations, passengers travelling between India and the Gulf country are likely to face continued disruptions.
Travellers with bookings during the affected period have been advised to check flight updates and revised schedules directly with their respective airlines before proceeding to airports.
The resumption of regular services will depend on further assessments of the regional security situation by the airlines.
