New Delhi: Air India is all set to introduce Wi-Fi in its planes, thereby paving the way for its passengers to have internet even in the sky. It will be included for the first time on Air India's Delhi-London service.
Air India announced the inclusion of Wi-Fi on the Delhi-London trip on September 2. This trip will be via London's Heathrow Airport. Air India has stated that the new Wi-Fi service will take air travel to another level.
London services depart from Delhi Airport twice a day. Air India's A350 aircraft will operate this route.
Most companies use internet from satellites to deliver Wi-Fi to passengers on board. Antennas on the plane will receive internet from satellites. It will be distributed to passengers using the in-flight Wi-Fi system. Companies such as JetBlue, Norwegian Air, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways offer in-flight Wi-Fi.
