Durga Puja, Navratri, Diwali, Onam…the festival season is almost upon us and it is time for the airlines to cash-in on added revenue eyeing rising passenger demand in the holiday season. Air India has already jumped early in the fray by announcing temporary, additional flights to Kolkata from four major Metros.
Kolkata-Delhi route

The airline has increased its frequency on the Delhi-Kolkata route from 28 to 35 flights per week effective September 20.
Kolkata-Mumbai
Air India has also enhanced its Mumbai-Kolkata connectivity from 21 to 28 per week.
Kolkata – Bengaluru: Kolkata-Hyderabad
The airline will operate daily non-stop flights to Kolkata from Bengaluru and Hyderabad for nearly a month starting September 20, 2024.
These new flights are introduced keeping in view flexibility in timings offering convenient timings and to provide ease of travel to tourists, working professionals and students visiting their families in Kolkata for the festival. Durga Puja celebrations in Kolkatta are well-known across the globe where young and old alike from all over India flock to witness the festivities of Puja pandals and enjoy the delicacies.
Besides these additional flights are perfectly times to facilitate seamless connectivity via its hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru connecting to oversees destinations like US, Canada, UK, Australia along with other European and Asian destinations.
Bookings for the new flights are now open. Passengers can book the tickets via mobile app, airline website and travel agents.
