Air India has cancelled multiple international flights for a second consecutive day on 2 March 2026, citing escalating tensions between Iran and Israel and resulting airspace restrictions across the Middle East.

The national carrier announced the suspension of all flights to and from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar until 11:59 PM on Monday.

In addition, six flights to Europe have been cancelled on 2 March, including:

AI117: Amritsar to Birmingham

AI151: Delhi to Zurich

AI152: Zurich to Delhi

AI157: Delhi to Copenhagen

AI158: Copenhagen to Delhi

AI114: Birmingham to Delhi

Flights to North America and other parts of Europe will continue as scheduled, although they will be rerouted through available Middle Eastern airspace, which is expected to extend travel times. Specifically, services to New York (JFK) and Newark (Liberty International) will now include technical stops at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.

Air India said it is “closely monitoring the situation” and has made operational decisions based on safety, security, airspace availability, and feasibility. The airline pledged to provide updates as circumstances evolve.

The carrier expressed regret for the disruption, stating that affected passengers are being contacted directly and assisted with alternative arrangements.
