Traffic personnel have been specially deployed in and around Bharat Mandapam to regulate movement and prevent bottlenecks during summit hours

After attendees were forced to walk for kilometres outside Bharat Mandapam due to vehicle restrictions triggering criticism and viral social media posts, fresh traffic curbs are in place across central Delhi as the AI Impact Summit enters its sixth day on Friday.
With concerns over crowd dispersal still fresh, Delhi Police has issued a detailed advisory announcing special arrangements and diversions from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm in view of the high footfall of delegates, officials and visitors expected at the venue.
Roads likely to be affected today
Commuters may face congestion or diversions on the following stretches:
- Bhairon Road
- Bhagwan Dass Road
- Purana Qila Road
- Mathura Road
Heavy vehicular movement and security protocols around the summit venue are expected to slow traffic, particularly during peak arrival and departure hours.
Alternative routes suggested
To ease traffic flow, motorists have been advised to use:
- Tilak Marg
- Sikandra Road
- Ring Road

Day 3 transport mess sparks backlash
Day 3 evening saw widespread complaints from attendees who said they were left stranded after the event due to temporary restrictions on vehicle movement outside the venue for VIP passage.
Several participants said they had to walk long distances to find cabs as app-based taxis were not allowed to enter certain stretches. Photos and videos of attendees trekking with backpacks and formal wear quickly surfaced online, with many criticising the exit planning and coordination.
Among them was Caleb Friesen, a Canadian national who has lived in India for eight years. While he praised the summit overall, he said the lack of proper transportation at the end overshadowed an otherwise positive experience.
