Mumbai: The office of investor Sushil Kedia in Mumbai's Worli area was vandalised on Saturday morning by unidentified persons who raised slogans supporting Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray. The incident occurred despite police having provided security to Kedia's office at Century Bazar following threats he received for a controversial social media post.

Kedia had openly challenged Raj Thackeray on X (formerly Twitter), asserting his refusal to learn Marathi, which reportedly sparked the backlash. His provocative post read: "I don't know Marathi properly even after living for 30 years in Mumbai & with your gross misconduct, I have made it a resolve that until such people as you are allowed to pretend to be taking care of Marathi Manus I take pratigya I won't learn Marathi. Kya karna hai bol?"

According to a police official, some individuals arrived at Kedia's office and threw stones while chanting pro-Marathi slogans and praising Raj Thackeray. The vandalism underscores the MNS's aggressive stance on promoting the Marathi language.

This incident follows closely on the heels of other recent controversies involving MNS-affiliated individuals. Just days prior, MNS activists were reportedly caught on camera assaulting a footstall owner for not speaking in Marathi, highlighting a pattern of confrontational enforcement of their linguistic agenda.
