ADG M V Pathak takes over as Coast Guard Commander for the western seaboard.

Mumbai: Additional Director General M V Pathak on Monday assumed charge as the Coast Guard Commander of the western seaboard.
An officer of the Indian Coast Guard since July 1989, Pathak has commanded all classes of Coast Guard ships, an official statement said. Over the years, he has held several key shore-based appointments, including Chief of Staff at the Coast Guard Commander (Western Seaboard), Mumbai; Commander, Coast Guard (Kerala and Mahe); Principal Director (Administration) at New Delhi; Commander, Coast Guard Region (Andaman and Nicobar) at Port Blair; Commander, Coast Guard Region (North East) at Kolkata; and Deputy Director General (operation and coastal security) at Coast Guard Headquarters, New Delhi.
Prior to taking over as Coast Guard Commander (Western Seaboard), Pathak served as Deputy Director General (CGSB) in New Delhi. He is a recipient of the prestigious ‘President Tatrakshak Medal and Tatrakshak Medal’, the Coast Guard said.
The western seaboard’s operational jurisdiction extends from Gujarat to Kerala and includes the Lakshadweep archipelago.
