Delhi Police dismissed claims circulating on social media that a 12-year-old girl named Geetanjali had been assaulted
New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday apologised to supporters injured during the party's 'Sansad Chalo' protest in Delhi, alleging excessive police action and claiming that several protesters, including a girl, were injured during the clashes. Delhi Police, however, rejected viral social media claims about the incident, calling them false and misleading.
In a post on X, Dipke apologised to protesters and accused the Delhi Police of using excessive force during Monday's march towards Parliament.

Earlier, after visiting a hospital where injured protesters were admitted, Dipke had alleged that "A girl is in critical condition at RML after being injured during the brutal lathi-charge."
According to hospital sources, several protesters were admitted for treatment following the violence. However, it remains unclear whether any of them sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police dismissed claims circulating on social media that a 12-year-old girl named Geetanjali had been assaulted and that dozens of protesters had suffered severe head injuries.
“False information is being currently circulated on social media regarding the posts claim that an individual named Geetanjali, a 12-year-old girl was assaulted, had her hair pulled, sustained a head injury, and approximately 40 to 50 other individuals suffered broken heads. This information is false. The claims being circulated in the posts are not true..." the police said.
Security remained tight around Sansad Marg on Tuesday, with heavy police deployment and barricades in place following the violence that erupted during the CJP's protest over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.
The protest turned violent on Monday, leaving more than 118 police personnel injured, according to Delhi Police, while around 70 protesters were detained after clashes between demonstrators and security personnel. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
