Income Tax officials conducting a raid at the house of former BJP MLA Harvansh Singh Rathore in Madhya Pradesh were shocked to find crocodiles on the property, as per reports. The raid, part of an investigation into Rs 155 crore tax evasion, also led to the seizure of Rs 3 crore in cash and several valuable items, including gold and silver jewelry.
The raid, which took place in Sagar district, was primarily linked to Rathore's business partner, Rajesh Kesarwani. Kesarwani, a former contractor and councillor, is under investigation for alleged income tax evasion through his bidi manufacturing business, as per reports. During the raid, officials discovered crocodiles in a pond on the property, prompting them to alert the forest department. MP Head of Forest Force Aseem Shrivastava confirmed that the crocodiles were rescued and a case was filed under the Wildlife Protection Act.
