Rakul Preet Singh has denied reports linking her to an Income Tax search, illegal foreign remittances and Benami property. The actress said she has been paying taxes since she was 20 and urged media outlets to retract the claims.

Rakul Preet Singh has broken her silence on reports linking her to an Income Tax search and allegations of illegal financial transactions. The actress has denied any involvement, saying the reported search was not connected to her and urging media outlets to correct what she called false and speculative claims.
Taking to Instagram, Rakul criticised what she described as a growing tendency among some online and mainstream media platforms to sensationalise reports without verifying the facts.
According to the actress, the Income Tax search mentioned in the reports did not pertain to her. Rakul also highlighted her background, saying she entered the film industry without a godfather and built her career through her own efforts.
She stressed that she has been paying taxes since the age of 20 and described herself as a law-abiding citizen.
Rakul also directly addressed reports concerning foreign remittances. She denied being involved in any illegal foreign remittance, either in her personal capacity or on behalf of a production house.
The actress went on to deny claims that she holds any Benami property in India or abroad. She also said that she has never been gifted property and does not accept expensive gifts as a matter of principle.
Rakul has now called on publications that carried the allegations to retract the reports and issue clarifications. She said that commercial pressures in the media industry should not come at the cost of facts, reputation or livelihood.
