Kasaragod: A case has been filed against Shruti Chandrasekaran, a resident of Kombanadukkam, following allegations that she ensnared several individuals, including police officers, in a honey trap scam.
It is indicated that she cheated many others by posing as an IAS and ISRO officer.
A case has been registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by a Poinachi native, who reportedly met Shruti through Instagram.
She introduced herself as an ISRO officer and even presented fabricated documents. Later, she allegedly stole Rs 1 lakh and one sovereign of gold from the complainant.
Further investigations revealed similar fraudulent activities in the past. There are also allegations that a youth who came forward with a complaint against her was falsely implicated in a sexual assault case.
The police have intensified their search for Shruti Chandrasekaran, who remains at large.
