Thrissur: A murder accused was hacked to death in Thrissur following a spat with friends. The deceased Satheesh (48), a native of Nadathara, was attacked late Sunday night. The police have detained three of his friends in connection with the incident.

Satheesh was found injured on the road near Poochatty Ground around 11.30 pm. Locals initially assumed he had been involved in a road accident. However, after alerting the police, Satheesh was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, where it was confirmed that he had been hacked.

Satheesh is an accused in the murders of Malankara Varghese and gang leader Chapli Biju. His attackers were also the co-accused in several cases involving him.

The fatal incident followed an argument between Satheesh and his friends during a birthday celebration at a bar previously. The friends met Satheesh again on Sunday night to discuss the dispute, which escalated into a confrontation, resulting in Satheesh being hacked to death. Following the crime, the accused surrendered at the police station.
