Thrissur: A series of ATM robberies have occurred in Thrissur, resulting in a loss of nearly Rs 60 lakh from three ATMs. The money was robbed from ATMs located on Shornur Road, Mapranam, and Kolazhy.
The robberies took place between 4 am and 5 am on Friday. A gang, wearing masks and arriving in a car, used a gas cutter to extract the money from the ATMs.
The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the incidents.
It is suspected that the same gang is responsible for all three thefts, which took place at ATMs under the jurisdictions of three different police stations.
Reports indicate that the robbers arrived in a white vehicle. The police are conducting rigorous checks at the district borders and are investigating the possibility that the suspects may attempt to flee to Tamil Nadu.
Further details are awaited.
