Kannur: A man travelling on the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express (16307) was stabbed by another passenger for questioning misbehaviour towards a female co-passenger. The incident happened in the general coach around 11:30 pm on Friday when the train was between Payyoli and Vadakara.

Earlier, the attacker had misbehaved with women, ignoring their warnings to keep away. Another passenger also asked him to stop, triggering the attacker to stab the person, who intervened, with a screwdriver.
When the train reached Vadakara station, RPF officials nabbed the attacker. His identity remains unknown. According to commuters, the attacker appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
The injured passenger sustained minor injuries and continued his journey.
This attack happened on the same train that experienced an arson attack in 2023, highlighting ongoing security concerns.
