Two teachers remanded to police custody in the Vadakara MDMA drug trafficking case claim innocence and accuse co-suspect Keerthana of lying.

Kozhikode (Kerala): The court has remanded the female teachers accused in the Vadakara MDMA drug trafficking case to police custody. The Vadakara NDPS Court granted a two-day custody order for the accused, Kavya and Neeshma. The investigating team had requested three days of custody, citing the need for detailed interrogation.
Meanwhile, Kavya told the media that she had committed no wrong and was merely entangled in the case. She made these remarks while being produced before the court. She further stated that nothing said by Keerthana, another accused in the case, should be believed and that the reality was completely different.
A total of five persons, including these three female teachers, were arrested in connection with the case.
The involvement of the three teachers has heightened the gravity of the case. All three were specialist teachers at the Perambra Block Resource Centre (BRC) and were dismissed from service following their involvement in the crime.
The accused maintained contact with the drug syndicate through Instagram. They allegedly conducted MDMA transactions worth lakhs of rupees via bank accounts without ever meeting buyers in person.
