Muhammed suffered two fractures in his right leg, bruises on his neck where the tyre ran over, and injuries to his left hand.

Thodupuzha (Idukki): In a shocking incident, a sub-inspector was seriously injured after being deliberately run over by a car during a routine patrol in Thodupuzha on Saturday afternoon.
Sub-Inspector E.M. Muhammed of the Kalloorkad Police Station in Muvattupuzha sustained severe injuries to his right leg and was admitted to a private hospital in Thodupuzha.
He has undergone emergency surgery and remains under close observation.
The incident happened around 3:30 PM. According to police, Muhammed and his team were on patrol when they spotted two men in a black Santro car engaging in a suspicious exchange. As they approached, Muhammed asked the men to step out of the vehicle for questioning. The suspects refused to comply.
When Muhammed attempted to remove the car keys, the driver suddenly accelerated. The vehicle's front wheel ran over Muhammed's leg, causing him to fall to the ground. The car was then driven over his right leg and body again, with the driver reversing and running him over a second time.
A fellow police officer from the patrol vehicle rushed to intervene, but one of the suspects escaped on foot while the other fled in the car.

Police have registered a case for attempted murder and obstruction of official duty. An investigation is underway to identify and arrest the culprits.
