Thiruvananthapuram: The police are preparing to include the mother, Shreethu, as an accused in the case involving a murder of her two-year-old daughter in Balaramapuram. Reports suggest there are contradictions in the statements obtained during questioning.
According to the police, investigations into Shreethu's phone revealed crucial information from her chats with her brother Harikumar.

Harikumar is still being questioned, and it has been learned that there are inconsistencies in his statement as well. He has reportedly failed to provide a clear answer regarding the motive for the child's murder. The police aim to complete the questioning of all involved parties by evening. Afterward, the child’s body will be taken to Neyyattinkara General Hospital for medical examination.

Shreethu initially claimed that the baby was put to sleep next to its father Sreejith. However, during questioning, Sreejith said that the child had been with the mother. Based on statements from neighbours, the police have concluded that there are major contradictions in Shreethu's account. The police suspect that the incident may have involved factors beyond financial issues.

A missing person complaint was raised early on Thursday morning, and the child's body was found around 8.15 am in a well near the house during a search operation conducted by the fire and rescue team along with the police. The deceased child was identified as Devendu.
