
Kochi, Kerala – Two Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in Angamaly have been arrested for using counterfeit Aadhaar cards. The accused, Muneerul Mulla (27) and Altaf Ali (30), were employed in the construction sector.
The Angamaly police took them into custody for allegedly living in the area since 2017 with forged documents. Both will be presented before the court.
Wider crackdown
Authorities have previously arrested individuals using counterfeit Aadhaar cards to reside illegally in Ernakulam district. Investigators suspect an organised group is behind the racket. Recently, Aluva police arrested two individuals in Perumbavoor for producing fake Aadhaar cards to help illegal immigrants purchase train tickets. In light of these arrests, authorities have decided to widen the probe into the network facilitating such activities.
