Gurugram: Haryana Police have initiated an inquiry on Thursday after a disturbing video surfaced on social media showing a man allegedly assaulting a woman near Bristol Chowk.

According to police, the incident occurred late Wednesday night outside a liquor shop, where the man and woman were seen arguing amid heavy traffic and crowds. The situation escalated into a physical altercation, during which the man repeatedly slapped the woman.

Officials said the woman attempted to defend herself and move away, but the man continued the assault. Despite the presence of several bystanders, no one intervened, though some were heard asking the woman to leave and record the incident.

Police said that although no formal complaint has been filed so far, their social media monitoring team has taken cognisance of the viral video and begun an investigation to identify the accused.

The clip has triggered outrage online, with users tagging Haryana Police and local authorities, demanding swift action against the man. Further investigation is underway.
