Gurugram: Kalyan Bainsla and Lavnish, the two accused arrested in the Golf Course Road hit-and-run case involving woman biker Sia, have been sent to 14 days of judicial custody after completing their two-day police remand.

The latest court development comes as Sia’s family continues to demand the arrest of two other people who they believe were also in the car when the incident took place. The family has stressed that its fight is against the alleged crime and not against any particular community.

Sia’s brother said the family wants the remaining suspects to be arrested and brought before the court at the earliest.

“We are not here to create any caste-related dispute. We are simply fighting against crime,” he said, adding that the family wants all those allegedly involved in the incident to face the legal process.

According to the family, the investigation so far points to four people being involved in the incident. With Bainsla and Lavnish already arrested, the family is seeking action against the other two.

The brother said the two accused had appeared before the court after completing their police remand and that the court would decide the next course of action.

The family has also urged investigators to examine all available evidence, including footage that could establish what the accused were doing before the incident.

The victim’s brother said the family had come across videos reportedly showing the group partying at a club through the night and leaving in the morning.

He made it clear that the family had not received official confirmation of the claims and wanted the authorities to examine the complete footage before drawing conclusions.

“We have not yet received official confirmation,” he said, adding that the family hoped investigators would look at all available evidence.

The issue of what happened before the Golf Course Road collision has become part of the wider investigation. Sia’s father had earlier said social media clips appeared to show the accused at a club before leaving in the morning, while stressing that the police investigation should establish the facts.

How the Golf Course Road case unfolded

The case came into focus after a video of the incident on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road went viral on social media. The footage showed a car allegedly colliding with Sia’s two-wheeler before leaving the scene.

Gurugram Police subsequently took suo motu cognisance of the incident and launched an investigation. Bainsla was arrested in Dausa, Rajasthan, while Lavnish was arrested in Palwal, Haryana. Lavnish was allegedly in the car with Bainsla at the time of the incident.

The two accused were subsequently granted two days of police custody, during which investigators sought to reconstruct the sequence of events and establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
