Thiruvananthapuram: A complaint has been lodged against Kerala excise officials for allegedly assaulting a family at their residence in Balaramapuram on Sunday.
The family of Vazhimukku native Althaf filed the complaint with the Balaramapuram Police.
However, an excise official, identified as Akhil, filed a complaint against Althaf before Neyyattinkara Police for allegedly attempting to attack him and his family after blocking their vehicle.
A few days ago, the excise officials nabbed Althaf with 3 grams of ganja. Later, he was released on station bail. Excise official Akhil was part of the team that nabbed him. According to Althaf's family's complaint, the excise team surrounded their house on Saturday night and attacked them.
Following this, Althaf's mother Qureshi, wife Nandhana, sister Arshitha, and niece Naziya were admitted to Neyyattinkara General Hospital for treatment.
