Una (Himachal Pradesh): A shocking incident of alleged cruelty against a minor has come to light from Una district, where a six-year-old girl was reportedly tied to a railing and beaten for plucking a guava from a tree, AajTak reported.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage among locals after details surfaced. According to a video that surfaced on social media, a retired army personnel allegedly punished the child by tying her with a rope after she picked fruit from his garden. The video shows the child with her hands tied to the railing of a staircase of a building.
The act left the young girl distressed and drew sharp condemnation from residents, who termed it inhumane and demanded strict action against the accused.
Police have reportedly taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation. The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
A user wrote, “She looks so traumatised, struggling to even speak without stammering. Kids are innocent; they don’t deserve this kind of cruelty at all. She looks like she comes from a poor family, maybe that’s why she was there, and she is still saying it wasn’t even her.”
