Kasaragod: The accused in the rape case of a ten-year-old girl in Hosdurg was nabbed by the police 10 days after the incident. P A Saleem, who had escaped after the brutal sexual abuse, was arrested from Andhra Pradesh.
Since he was not using his mobile phone, tracking him was a difficult task for the police. However, they zeroed in on him as he had called once to his home.
The Hosdurg Police had launched a search for Saleem in the border areas of Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra. On getting a tip-off, they went to Andhra Pradesh and arrested him from there.
Saleem will be brought to Kanhangad on Friday. He is also an accused in another POCSO case.
Earlier the Hosdurg Police had released his photos as he was absconding after allegedly committing the heinous crime.
