Alappuzha: A shocking double murder took place in Kommady, Alappuzha, on Thursday night, where a man allegedly stabbed his own parents to death following a heated family dispute.

The victims have been identified as Thankaraj and his wife Agnes.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 9 pm. The accused, believed to be their son, fled the scene after committing the crime. Police have launched a manhunt to arrest him.

Locals rushed to the scene after hearing loud noises. Agnes was immediately taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Thankaraj, who was found lying in a pool of blood, was shifted to the hospital after the police arrived, but he too succumbed to his injuries.

Police suspect that the accused may have carried out the attack under the influence of alcohol. A long-standing family dispute is believed to have escalated into the tragic violence.
