Police are formally verifying the young woman's age alongside the murder probe.

A 45-year-old business owner in Bengaluru has been arrested for allegedly beating his young Malayali employee to death on Tuesday, November 03. The fatal assault occurred after the employer reportedly caught the worker at his residence with his daughter. Police identified the deceased as Kiran (reported to be 22 or 24 years old), from Thiruvegappura near Pattambi in Palakkad district, Kerala. The suspect, Anandraj, hails from Tamil Nadu and runs a unit on Kogilu Road near Yelahanka that manufactures commercial carts and sweet corn preparation machines. Yelahanka police registered a murder case and arrested Anandraj at a local hospital shortly after doctors declared the victim brought dead.
Surprise return leads to fatal assault
Kiran had worked at Anandraj's manufacturing unit for the past two years. During this time, he developed a close romantic relationship with Anandraj's 19-year-old elder daughter, a Pre-University Course (PUC) student in Mysuru. Anandraj strongly opposed their relationship from the beginning. Taking advantage of consecutive holidays, the young woman had returned home to Bengaluru. On Tuesday morning, Anandraj and his wife left home, telling their daughter they were travelling to Tamil Nadu and would return late at night. Kiran visited the house near Kogilu Cross soon after they departed. However, the couple returned unexpectedly within a few hours and reportedly found Kiran and the young woman together in a room.
Brutal attack and hospital collapse
Enraged by what he saw, Anandraj immediately sent his daughter away to a relative's house in Chickballapur. He then locked Kiran inside the home. Using a cricket bat and an iron pipe, Anandraj allegedly launched a severe physical attack on the youth. Kiran suffered heavy injuries to his hands, legs, and abdomen before collapsing unconscious. Realising the victim was unresponsive, Anandraj hired an autorickshaw and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Medical staff examined Kiran upon arrival and pronounced him dead.
Police action and ongoing procedure
Hospital authorities immediately alerted the police by filing a medico-legal case (MLC) notification. A police team from Yelahanka arrived at the facility, confirmed the death caused by assault, and arrested Anandraj. Investigators are formally verifying the young woman's age alongside the murder probe. In Bengaluru, Kiran shared accommodation with his brother, a delivery driver for a vegetable shop. At the time of the incident, his brother was away transporting goods to Uttar Pradesh and is now travelling back. Police have shifted the body to the hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The body will be handed over to the family once his brother reaches the city.
