Amravati (Maharashtra): In a major development in the sensational Paratwada video scandal, authorities in Maharashtra’s Amravati district have demolished the house of the main accused, 19-year-old Ayan Ahmed Tanveer, as part of action against alleged illegal construction.

The move comes amid an ongoing investigation into shocking allegations that more than 180 girls were trapped in a so-called ‘love scam’ and exploited.

According to officials, the municipal administration carried out the demolition after serving a prior notice to Tanveer.

Soon after, a JCB machine was deployed at the site to raze the structure identified as an encroachment.

Anticipating tension, a heavy police force was deployed in the area to maintain law and order. A large number of locals gathered at the spot as the demolition unfolded, turning the action into a major public spectacle.

Authorities have maintained that the demolition was part of routine proceedings against illegal constructions.

However, given the scale and sensitivity of the allegations against Tanveer, the timing of the action has drawn widespread attention and sparked intense public debate.

The case first came to light through a series of viral video clips circulating online. What initially appeared to be isolated incidents soon snowballed into a major investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that over 180 girls were allegedly lured into relationships and later exploited, with more than 350 objectionable videos reportedly recorded.

Investigators believe these videos were subsequently shared across multiple social media platforms. In a significant breakthrough, police have also arrested a second accused, Ujer Khan Iqbal Khan.

According to investigators, he allegedly accessed Tanveer’s mobile phone, downloaded the videos, and circulated them online.

Officials said he is currently being questioned extensively, and his custodial interrogation is expected to reveal crucial details about the network, including whether more individuals were involved in recording or distributing the content.

The main accused, Tanveer, had been arrested earlier and remains in police custody. Multiple cases have been registered against him under various sections of the law.

During the investigation, police recovered several videos from his mobile device, which are now being analysed. Identifying the victims featured in these videos has emerged as a top priority for the authorities.

Officials also revealed that some data had been deleted from Tanveer’s phone. Cyber experts have been roped in to recover the erased content, which could potentially uncover further evidence and expand the scope of the investigation.

Authorities believe that retrieving this data may lead to more revelations about the extent of the alleged exploitation.

Given the sensitive nature of the case, police have emphasised strict confidentiality in handling the victims’ identities.

A dedicated team of women officers has been assigned to reach out to those affected and encourage them to come forward without fear.

Officials have assured that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety and privacy of the victims.

Meanwhile, police have issued a strong advisory to the public and media, urging them not to share or circulate any videos or images related to the case.

Authorities warned that doing so would constitute a punishable offence and could further harm the victims by violating their privacy.

The incident has triggered anger and concern among residents, with several groups demanding strict action against those involved.

There have also been calls for protests and shutdowns in parts of the region, prompting the administration to heighten security measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

Adding a political dimension to the controversy, allegations have surfaced regarding the accused’s links to a political organisation. However, local representatives of the party in question have denied any current association, stating that Tanveer has been removed from the organisation.

Public representatives from the Achalpur region have demanded a high-level probe into the case.

Some leaders have also called for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation, particularly if the case involves a larger organised network.

Police officials said that, so far, no victim has formally filed a complaint. However, efforts are ongoing to establish contact with potential victims and encourage them to report the crime.

Authorities have highlighted that victims can register a “Zero FIR” at any police station, regardless of jurisdiction, and assured that their identities will be fully protected.

The investigation remains underway, with agencies working to trace the origin of the videos, identify all those involved, and ensure strict legal action in what is emerging as one of the most disturbing cases in the region.
