Indian chess icon Viswanathan Anand has showered praise on R. Praggnanandhaa after the young grandmaster became the first Indian player to win the prestigious Norway Chess title. Anand highlighted Praggnanandhaa's remarkable comeback in the final rounds, describing his approach as fearless, creative and highly competitive.

Speaking about reigning World Champion D Gukesh, who finished sixth at Norway Chess, Anand said the teenager could take inspiration from Praggnanandhaa's persistence and dedication.

Anand asserts that form fluctuations are normal in elite chess and that perseverance eventually pays off.
