‘On mother's day, true son of Tamil Nadu is taking office’: Sanam Shetty on Vijay swearing-in
The ceremony coincided with Mother’s Day and was attended by Vijay’s parents, film personalities and thousands of supporters.
Tamil actress Sanam Shetty on Sunday linked C Joseph Vijay’s swearing-in as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister with Mother’s Day, calling it a significant moment for the state and his supporters.
“Today I stand here for our beloved Thalapathy Vijay. Today on mother's day, our true son of Tamil Nadu is taking office, our people's CM, Thalapathy,” Shetty said in Chennai.
She said supporters were proud to witness Vijay taking oath after what she described as a difficult political journey over the past two years.
“It has not been easy at all, the last two years have been gruelling... One man has destroyed the entire system...” she said.
Shetty also described the occasion as a breakthrough moment in Tamil Nadu politics.
“Even after winning the majority, even after creating a historic moment... the gruelling past week of political dynamic shifts hasn't allowed us to sleep peacefully. Today, we are going to sleep peacefully, dreaming of a better Tamil Nadu in the safe hands of our beloved Thalapathy Joseph Vijay sir,” she added.
