British-Indian actor Priya Kansara said she was initially “terrified” to work opposite Ryan Gosling in the upcoming sci-fi film Project Hail Mary, but praised him as collaborative and easy to work with. Kansara, who voices the computer “Mary”, revealed she performed her lines live on set rather than recording them later, allowing for improvisation with Gosling under directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Based on Andy Weir’s novel, the film was released on March 20, 2026 and follows a reluctant astronaut tasked with saving Earth from extinction. Kansara, also known for Bridgerton and Polite Society, said her background in molecular biology helped her connect with the story. She credited her London upbringing and supportive family for her career, adding she is keen to take on challenging roles and collaborate with diverse creatives.
