The iconic ‘Palace on Wheels’ luxury train is operating in Rajasthan during May this year, breaking from its usual summer suspension schedule.
In a rare break from tradition, the icon is operating during the month of May this year, despite Rajasthan’s intense summer heat.
The luxury heritage train, which usually suspends services during the peak summer season, is continuing operations, giving tourists a unique chance to experience Rajasthan’s royal charm in the off-season.
Many domestic travelers onboard say the soaring temperatures have not dampened their enthusiasm to explore the vibrant culture, historic forts, palaces, and desert landscapes of the state.
Launched in 1982, the Palace on Wheels is regarded as India’s first luxury heritage train and remains one of the country’s most prestigious rail tourism experiences. Every year, it attracts large numbers of domestic as well as international tourists.
The train begins its journey from In and covers a distance of around 2,610 kilometers.
During the week-long journey, passengers visit some of Rajasthan’s most popular tourist destinations, along with others, before returning to Delhi.
Known for its royal interiors, personalized hospitality, and heritage-inspired design, the Palace on Wheels offers travelers a blend of luxury, history, and cultural immersion while showcasing the rich tourism appeal of Rajasthan.
