Praising Kohli's current form and commitment, Kapil emphasised that the cricketer’s fitness will determine how long he continues.
Former India captain Kapil Dev believes Virat Kohli can continue playing for another two to three years if he maintains his fitness, while expressing surprise over his decision to step away from Test cricket.
Praising Kohli's current form and commitment, Kapil emphasised that health will determine how long he continues. He noted: “At this age, every tournament, every series is important. He is showing so much interest. The way he is playing, he is looking good. At this age, his fitness is the most important thing. And if he can keep himself fit for another two-three years, I think he can break all the records.”
However, Kapil admitted he felt disappointed regarding Kohli's departure from the longest format, stating: “I feel sorry about him. He retired from Test match. I think, I don’t know why he did that. He was the best.” Ultimately, he acknowledged that the choice remains entirely with Kohli. (PTI)
