Gujarat health worker Mukeshbhai Dabhi turned farmland into a woodball training ground and won national medals with determination.
In Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district, Mukeshbhai Nanjibhai Dabhi is proving that dedication can turn ordinary spaces into arenas of success. A health worker by profession and a resident of Koliyak village, Mukeshbhai transformed his own farmland into a practice ground and emerged as a national-level woodball player.
After competing in kabaddi and pistol shooting, he entered woodball in 2024 and even created his own practice kit to continue training despite limited resources. His efforts delivered results with a silver medal at the 2025 Khel Mahakumbh and a gold medal in 2026.
Representing Gujarat at the Woodball National Games 2026 in Chhattisgarh, Mukeshbhai won gold in the Fairway Team Event and bronze in the Doubles Event. Beyond personal success, he trained 11 players, with 9 securing national medals.
