Under the Jal Arpan 2025 programme, a major community-driven initiative under the Jal Jeevan Mission, residents of Jangal Tikonia Number 3 village in Gorakhpur have received a dedicated drinking water facility, bringing long-awaited relief from water scarcity.

The water tank was inaugurated on Jal Arpan Day on Friday, with Gorakhpur Sadar MP Ravi Kishan attending the event as the chief guest. Individuals who played a key role in implementing the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ initiative were also felicitated on the occasion.

Notably, Jangal Tikonia Number 3 has become the first village in Uttar Pradesh to receive a water tank under the Jal Arpan programme. The tank has a storage capacity of approximately 1.75 lakh litres, ensuring a steady supply of clean drinking water to households.

Villagers expressed happiness and relief following the inauguration, stating that access to safe drinking water would highly improve their quality of life. Residents recalled that basic amenities were scarce before the current state government came to power, but recent initiatives have brought visible change to the region.

The newly installed water tank is expected to particularly benefit the Vantangia community.
