Farming amid fear: Border villagers vigilant against rising Pakistan threats
Farmers continue harvest as tensions persist along RS Pura border
Jammu: Farmers in the RS Pura sector along the International Border are busy harvesting their crops and clearing weeds, determined to maintain their fields even as tensions continue to simmer in the area.
Residents say they are staying vigilant, noting that “Pakistan cannot be trusted,” a view shaped by previous incidents along the border. While officials have described India’s Operation Sindoor as a strong and effective response, locals believe Pakistan’s activities across the border have not fully died down.
Their caution has been reinforced by recent remarks from the Defence Minister and the Army Chief, who indicated that the next phase of Operation Sindoor could be “more intense” and focused on dismantling Pakistan’s narco-terror networks.
Villagers say they are prepared for any eventuality. Bunkers in the region have been kept ready, and border residents continue with their routine farm work while remaining alert.
