Cyber fraudsters are exploiting the popularity of the “Cockroach Janata Party” to target unsuspecting users with phishing links and fake APK files
Cyber fraud cases continue to rise across India, prompting fresh warnings from enforcement agencies. Recently, the Ludhiana Police alerted citizens on social media platform X about scammers misusing the growing popularity of the “Cockroach Janata Party” to spread phishing links. Fraudsters are reportedly sending fake messages and emails claiming users can join the party by clicking suspicious links.
Cyber experts warn that these links are designed to steal personal information, gain access to electronic devices, and carry out financial fraud. AI and cyber expert Saakshar Duggal said criminals are targeting young people using fake APK files and AI-generated phishing emails crafted to appear official. He stressed that the so-called party has not issued any public appeal inviting people to join through such links. Experts are urging users to remain vigilant online and follow two key rules: “Verify before you trust” and “Think before you click.”
