A year after Arikomban, the wild tusker who wreaked havoc and terrorized people of Chinnakanal in Idukki district of Kerala, was translocated, residents say there is little relief. Though the rice-loving Arikomban moved out, he has since been replaced by the jackfruit-loving Chakkakomban. The residents in the Kerala village continue to live in fear as the state grapples with escalating human-animal conflicts.
