Arshdeep highlighted Kohli's vast experience and mastery of ODI cricket, calling it a "blessing" to share the dressing room with him
Perth: India seamer Arshdeep Singh called it a “blessing” to share the dressing room with the iconic Virat Kohli, saying he isn’t worried about the star batsman’s eight-ball duck in India’s seven-wicket loss to Australia in the first ODI.
Speaking ahead of the second ODI, Arshdeep expressed confidence that Kohli, a master of 50-over cricket, will bounce back and deliver crucial runs in the remaining games of the series.
“Form is just a word for him. He has played more than 300 ODIs for India. He knows how to get going,” Arshdeep said. “It’s a blessing to share the dressing room with him. Going forward in the series, I feel there will be a lot of runs for him. Talking about this format, he has mastered it. I don’t know how he feels about it personally, maybe I will ask him and let you know at the next press conference.
The left-arm pacer, still getting accustomed to Shubman Gill’s leadership in white-ball cricket, expects the young captain to lead like his illustrious predecessors, Kohli and Rohit Sharma, with a strong emphasis on supporting bowlers.
India will face Australia in the series-deciding second ODI in Adelaide on Thursday.
