Actor Anupam Kher has praised the biographical film Michael, calling it “phenomenal”, “inspiring” and “deeply moving”. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film stars Jaafar Jackson and traces the life of Michael Jackson from his early years with the Jackson 5 to his rise as a global icon in the 1980s.

Sharing his reaction on social media, Kher said the film transcends language barriers and connects through emotion, comparing Jackson’s universal appeal to that of Charlie Chaplin. He added that the story highlights not just the music but the complexities of Jackson’s life, describing it as a journey that is “messy, beautiful and unpredictable”.

The film, released on April 24, has received mixed responses from critics and audiences. Kher, however, expressed gratitude for experiencing the story of an artist he believes inspired generations worldwide, and singled out Jaafar Jackson’s performance as “outstanding”. (PTI)
