Thrissur: Various women's organisations here on Sunday extended their support to Girija Theatre owner Dr Girija by attending a 3 pm movie show. The day witnessed rare scenes as the theatre was jam-packed by women who attended the show as a gesture to condemn the alleged cyber harassment launched against Girija for the past five years.

The Chamber of Commerce, YWCA, Mahila Morcha, and many other prominent women's associations attended the show.

Overwhelmed by the huge support, Girija expressed her gratitude to all. “I have been sleeping peacefully after a long time. I feel as if my physical ailments have been relieved,” she said in front of the huge crowd gathered for the show.

The theatre has been playing the movie ‘Madhura Manohara Moham’ and its key actor Sharaf U Dheen too visited the theatre, extending his support to Girija. 

She has been receiving support from various corners. Meanwhile, Girija informed that police have recorded statements in connection with the case registered. She also thanked Mathrubhumi for bringing the issue to public attention.
