Photos of Malayalam superstar Mammootty in stylish looks have always been celebrated on social media, often arriving unexpectedly. Producer Anto Joseph has now shared one such picture on his Instagram page.

“What next?” Anto Joseph captioned the stylish photograph of Mammootty. The picture was released just ahead of Mammootty’s 75th birthday, which falls on Monday. Within minutes of being posted, the photograph was embraced by fans, with several people, including filmmaker G. Marthandan, reacting to it.

Fans are eagerly awaiting updates on two of Mammootty’s upcoming films on his birthday. They are the Tamil film Om, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, and the upcoming action film directed by Nithish Sahadev. The title and first-look poster of the Nithish Sahadev film will be released at 12.01 am on Monday, the production house Mammootty Kampany announced.

Also on Monday, details about Mammootty’s character in Om, which stars Dhanush in the lead, will be revealed.

Nithish Sahadev-Mammootty film

The film is the ninth production by Mammootty under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. It is also reportedly the biggest film produced by the banner so far. The behind-the-scenes visuals released so far appear to support this claim. The makers have not yet revealed Mammootty’s look or the name of his character.

The film has been written by director Nithish Sahadev and Anuraj O.B. Jimshi Khalid is the cinematographer. Shooting began in Tamil Nadu by the end of July. Reports suggest that Mammootty will sport a striking look in the film.

The film is being made on a mega canvas, combining action, comedy and mass elements to appeal to audiences across the board. It also features a large ensemble cast.

Mammootty and Dhanush team up for ‘Om’

Om is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and stars Dhanush and Mammootty in key roles. The film’s title, first-look poster and teaser have already been released. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026.

The pan-Indian film is being produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films in association with RTake Studios. It is Rajkumar Periasamy’s next film after the blockbuster Amaran. Sai Pallavi plays the female lead, while Sreeleela also has a prominent role.

Titled Om – Chapter One, the film carries the tagline “Udhiram: The Blood Wood”. The title teaser suggests that the film will be a full-fledged mass action drama. The director had earlier revealed that Mammootty will play a character named Karthikeyan.

Om marks Mammootty’s return to Tamil cinema after 8 years. His last Tamil film was Peranbu, directed by Ram, which was released in 2018. The film also reunites Dhanush and Sai Pallavi after Maari 2.
