Aamir plans to begin work on Mahabharat after the release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, slated for June 20

In a recent conversation on Raj Shamani's podcast, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan shared a personal revelation that his long-awaited dream project, Mahabharat, could possibly be the final film of his career. Speaking candidly, Aamir said that the emotional and narrative depth of Mahabharat is so immense that completing it might leave him feeling creatively fulfilled to the point where he may not feel the urge to take on another film. Describing the epic as a story that contains every aspect of human experience — from emotion to grandeur — he acknowledged that it’s a project of immense scale and significance.
Aamir plans to begin work on Mahabharat after the release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, slated for June 20. Reflecting further, he mentioned that while he hopes to work until the end of his life (by quoting the great A.K. Hangal), the experience of making Mahabharat might evoke such a strong emotional response that he could choose to step away from acting afterward.
In another conversation with the THR India, he also hinted at the massive scope of the project, stating that telling the Mahabharat would likely require multiple films and possibly multiple directors — similar to the production model used for The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
This statement underscores Mahabharat not just as a cinematic ambition, but as a deeply personal journey for Aamir — which the legend now hints could well be the perfect swansong for him. (With inputs from Agencies)
