The mythological drama 'Kannappa', starring Vishnu Manchu and Akshay Kumar, is now available for streaming on Prime Video. The film, which had a theatrical release on June 27, has made a quiet digital debut after a ten-week waiting period.

Despite significant online buzz and a star-studded cast, the movie struggled at the box office, with reports from Sacnilk showing a domestic collection of just ₹31.93 crore against a budget of approximately ₹200 crore.

The worldwide gross stood at ₹41.75 crore.

Where to watch and what to expect

The film is currently streaming in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. There is no official word yet on the release of the Hindi-dubbed version.

Prime Video announced the launch with a post, "Glory, Guts and Grandeur all in one epic #KannappaOnPrime, Watch Now."

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the story follows Thinnadu, a fierce tribal warrior, on his journey from being a staunch atheist to a devout follower of Lord Shiva. The film's climax features a dramatic scene where Thinnadu, now known as Kannappa, is about to sacrifice his remaining eye to the deity before Lord Shiva intervenes.

The movie features a large ensemble cast, including Preity Mukhundhan, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, and Mukesh Rishi, with cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal.
