Mumbai: Musician Vishal Mishra has announced plans to organise concerts in Assam and Nepal, pledging that every penny raised from the events will go towards flood relief and supporting people affected by the disasters.

The singer-composer shared the announcement on Instagram, saying he was deeply affected by the devastation caused by the floods. An official announcement on the concerts is expected soon.

“My heart is heavy seeing what's happening So I have made a decision. I WILL PERFORM A CONCERT IN #NEPAL AND A CONCERT IN #ASSAM. EVERY SINGLE PENNY. WILL GO TOWARDS FLOOD RELIEF AND THE PEOPLE AFFECTED. I GIVE YOU MY WORD. Announcement soon (sic),” Vishal wrote.

He captioned the post: “Stay strong , will do whatever I can individually, Har Har Mahadev.”

The announcement comes as Assam and Nepal continue to grapple with the aftermath of devastating floods.

Assam was hit by severe flooding beginning on July 19, 2026, following an earlier spell of intense rainfall around June 28. A second and more severe phase of flooding was triggered by monsoonal downpours and upstream cloudbursts on July 19, with the crisis peaking later that month as villages were submerged.

Nepal, meanwhile, suffered catastrophic flash floods on August 26. According to Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the bodies of 579 people swept away by the floods had been recovered so far, while 1,924 people remained out of contact as of Friday evening.

Who is Vishal Mishra?

Vishal Mishra, known for songs including “Kaise Hua,” “Pehle Bhi Main,” “Aaj Bhi,” “Jaanam,” “Manjha,” “Ramta Jogi” and “Sau Gram Zindagi,” began his career journey with an appearance on a reality show aired on DD National.

The 35-year-old later auditioned for Indian Idol but was disqualified. He made his debut as a composer with the 2016 Tamil film Devi.

Over the years, he has composed and sung for several Hindi and regional films. In 2017, he composed “Jaane De”, sung by Atif Aslam, for Qarib Qarib Singlle. He also worked on Munna Michael and the Marathi film FU: Friendship Unlimited.

His subsequent projects included “Rafta Rafta” for Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, the romantic song “Selfish” for Race 3, and the title track of Veere Di Wedding.

Details regarding the proposed Assam and Nepal concerts are yet to be announced.
