Kochi: Director and actor Vineeth Srinivasan has responded to the recent sexual abuse allegations against actor Nivin Pauly, asserting that the actor was with him during the time the alleged incident took place. Vineeth also said that he had photographic evidence to refute the claims.

According to Vineeth, Nivin was with him on December 14, 2023 where they had been working together on the set of the film Varshangalkku Shesham until 3 am on December 15. “Nivin’s scenes were filmed on the morning of December 14. The crew assembled by 7 am, and filming began inside the Ernakulam Nucleus Mall at 8.30 am. After completing those scenes, which included an inauguration scene with around 300 junior artists, the crew moved to Crowne Plaza. Filming there, which included Nivin’s introduction scene, continued until 3 am on December 15. Nivin left only after having a conversation with us for a while… This timeline can be easily verified due to the large number of witnesses," Vineeth added.

The allegations against Nivin were made by a young woman who claimed she was sexually abused by Nivin in exchange for an acting opportunity. The police have filed a case under a non-bailable section, involving six persons, with Nivin listed as the sixth accused. The complainant is from Oonnukal.

In response to the allegations, Nivin Pauly had held a media meeting where he firmly denied the accusations. He vowed to take legal action and fight to clear his name, stating that the allegations are baseless.
