Directed by Vysakh, 'Turbo' released in Kerala on May 23, achieving notable success at the box office. In a first for Malayalam cinema, an Arabic-dubbed version of the movie started premiering across the GCC countries on August 2. Ahead of its release, distributor Truth Global Films hosted a preview of the Arabic version in Dubai.

The preview took place at Vox Cinemas, Mirdif, Dubai City Centre, where responses from attendees, shared by Truth Global Films, indicate a positive reception. Audiences enthusiastically embraced the Malayalam film in their language, praising its action sequences and expressing a desire for more films to be dubbed similarly. 

The film revolves around Jose, a jeep driver from Idukki who is forced to relocate to Chennai where a bunch of surprises await him. Directed by Vysakh and written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, the film also stars Kannada actor Raj B. Shetty and Telugu veteran actor Sunil, Anjana Jayaprakash, Bindu Panikkar, Alexander Prasanth, Kabir Duhan Singh, Shabareesh Varma and others in the pivotal roles. The film has been made with a lot of emphasis on action scenes.

'Turbo' is the fifth film produced under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. Mammootty's new getup and mass action comedy in ‘Turbo’ had set theatres on fire. More than 40 shows were charted in various theatres in Ernakulam district, 22 extra shows were charted in Thiruvananthapuram district, and more than 50 late-night shows were charted in Kozhikode and Malappuram districts. Mammootty has got the best achievement in his film career with ‘Turbo’. 

The background music is composed by Christo Xavier and his team. After the films 'Pokkiri Raja' and 'Madhura Raja', Vysakh and Mammootty reunited with 'Turbo'.
