Passengers should also ensure they reach their boarding gates no later than one hour before their flight. Metro services remain a convenient option for reaching Terminal 3

Dubai: With the summer holiday season underway, passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport has surged to more than 2 lakh travellers a day, airport authorities said. Dubai International remains one of the world's busiest airports.
The airport is expected to handle around 30 lakh passengers over the next two weeks. On July 12 alone, more than 225,000 passengers are projected to pass through the airport.
Summer is one of the airport's busiest periods. Between July and September last year, Dubai International handled 2.42 crore passengers. Total passenger traffic in 2025 exceeded 9.52 crore, reflecting the airport's strong infrastructure and service standards. Authorities expect the airport to serve 9.95 crore passengers by the end of this year.
With travel demand rising, Emirates has advised passengers to plan ahead and arrive at the airport well in advance.
Security screening and immigration procedures may take longer than usual due to the increased passenger volume. Travellers are advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure.
Passengers should also ensure they reach their boarding gates no later than one hour before their flight. Metro services remain a convenient option for reaching Terminal 3.
To minimise waiting times, authorities have encouraged passengers to use online check-in and the Emirates app before arriving at the airport. Additional security measures have been put in place to manage the holiday rush.
As part of Emirates' digital transformation agenda and to meet the evolving expectations of global travellers, the airport has expanded its smart screening systems. These upgrades are expected to reduce waiting time and provide passengers with a smoother and more efficient travel experience.
